What contains Probiotics?

I not only eat dark, leafy greens for my probiotics, I also take an all natural, non-dairy 50 Billion Micro organism probiotic supplement every day.  Probiotics keeps your digestive system working productively, supports a healthy immune system, and keeps you regular. We do carry the supplements here at Infinity Health and Wellness Center.

It's not difficult to get into a rut with food. As we rush about in our busy lives, many times nutrition takes a backseat to more pressing concerns. The regrettable cost of this shortcut? Expanding waistlines, dulled thinking and floundering immune systems. Fortunately, it doesn't have to be this way. By including a few probiotic-rich foods in our daily routine, we can greatly improve mental and physical well-being -- all without unpleasant fad diets.

Traditionally used around the globe, and cheered by modern health advocates, the art of fermentation and culturing is an easy, cost-effective method to maximize nutrition while increasing digestion and health. These foods, with their spectrum of beneficial bacteria, can be an absolute revelation for those with less than perfect physical and mental health.

Painless weight loss

If you feel your current weight is far from ideal -- and would like to shed a few pounds -- probiotics can help. Researchers discovered in a recent study that women who consumed a strain of lactic acid bacteria called Lactobacillus rhamnosus lost twice as much weight as their non-probiotic counterparts. Over the course of 12 weeks, half the women were given two probiotic pills per day, while the other received a placebo. At the end of the study, the researchers observed that the weight of the women in the placebo group remained stable, whereas the probiotic group continued to lose weight, totaling 5.2 kg per person. As reported by in the study's press release:

"[P]robiotics may act by altering the permeability of the intestinal wall. By keeping certain proinflammatory molecules from entering the bloodstream, they might help preventing the chain reaction that leads to glucose intolerance, type 2 diabetes, and obesity."

Although Lactobacillus rhamnosus was administered in pill form, the bacterium is also present in products like yogurt with active cultures. Professor Tremblay, lead researcher of the study, believes that the probiotics found in cultured dairy could have a similar effect as the supplement.

A clear mind and sound health

Weight loss isn't the only advantage of increasing your intake of probiotics; they might actually make you smarter too. If you find yourself struggling with brain fog, depression or anxiety, the problem may lie in the gut. Through the use of antibiotics, consuming a diet high in sugary, processed food or living in a constant state of stress, the beneficial microbiome in our gut becomes imbalanced -- which contributes to unclear thinking, sadness and excessive worry. But we can easily correct this issue by enjoying more foods like:
  • unpasteurized sauerkraut and kimchi,
  • kefir,
  • beet kvass,
  • traditional sourdough bread,
  • Ethiopian injera,
  • tempeh,
  • miso,
  • traditional buttermilk and
  • kombucha.

As an added perk, probiotic-rich foods also give the immune system a nice leg-up. As noted in the journal Nutrition in Clinical Practice:

"Randomized, double-blind studies have provided evidence of the effectiveness of probiotics for preventing various diarrheal illnesses as well as allergic disorders. Evidence for their efficacy for use in the prevention and treatment of bacterial vaginosis and urinary tract infections is also mounting. In addition, probiotics may be useful for preventing respiratory infections, dental caries, necrotizing enterocolitis, and certain aspects of Inflammatory Bowel Disease."

If you would like to try your hand at fermenting and culturing, Nourished Kitchen offers a range of tutorials.

Foods that Cleanse

I want my gut to be the strongest muscle in my body!  Yep.  The colon is a muscle too.  And, a strong gut leads to strong immune system.  It only takes small steps to strengthen the gut.  Here are just a few.  Infinity Health & Wellness Center.

healthy gut is the foundation of a healthy body. Unfortunately many of us feel less than vibrant and vital and struggle with digestive issues or food sensitivities and a tendency to catch every cold that pass us by. Interestingly about 70% of the cells that make up our immune system are in the wall of our gut. Yet a sluggish digestion, poor diet, stress (a big trouble maker!), environmental toxins and food toxins can really take it's toll.
That's when it's time to clean up your act and lighten the load on your system. Making sure to include some gut-cleansing herbs to your diet along with the following gut-cleansing foods can really help boost the cleaning of the gut. The hope is that all this will indeed flush the colon of any toxic build-up, help you lose weight, improve digestive function and re-energize you.
1. Dark, Leafy Greens
These fibrous and bright plants are great for sweeping clean the gut. They are also full of minerals and antioxidants that can help our body protect itself from the toxins we get exposed to. Keep in mind that if you have a lot of digestive issues it might be best to eat cooked vegetables, as these are easier to digest. Try simple soups, sautéing your greens or steaming them. Always add some healthy fat (butter, olive oil or avocado) and acid (lemon juice or vinegar) to support proper absorption of the vitamins in the greens.
2. Chia Seeds
These tiny power seeds are the perfect gut cleansers. When soaked in water for a few minutes they plump up and turn into a jello-like substance. They help flush out the stomach and especially great for those prone to constipation. They also contain anti-inflammatory omega 3 fatty acids which your body will thank you for! You can simply add a spoon of chia seeds to a glass of water and drink it down, or make a pudding using nut milk and some cacao, or add it to your smoothies, morning porridge or sprinkle them on salads!
3. Psyllium Husk
This is another powerful seed with serious cleansing potential! It's a very potent and as with chia plumps up in water and turns into a gelatinous soup. Because it's so powerful I always recommend people start very easy with a low dose and see how their body reacts. And make sure to drink plenty of water to support the gut cleansing.
4. Herbs
There are lots of herbal supplements on the market that can be used to support a gut cleanse, but there are also great 'everyday' herbs you can add to your food that will help support cleansing of the gut. Try fennel seeds, which aid in elimination of mucus buildup and relieves gas. Peppermint is soothing for any digestive upset and helps alleviate bloating. Oregano has both anti-viral and anti-fungal properties. If you suspect you may have an overgrowth of yeast or fungus (a common issue!) it's important to address it by including some herbs to your gut-cleansing plan.
5. Cayenne
Cayenne does more than just adding some heat to your meals. It's a mucous dissolver and help loosen any mucous build up in the body. The stomach uses mucous and stomach acid to boost and ease digestions and cayenne may even fight symptoms of indigestion. It's not a coincidence that's it's one of the three things you're allowed to consume on the intense (and ludicrous!?!) Master Cleanse.
6. Prebiotics
Did you know that we are in fact more microbe than we are cells? Our gut contains 100 trillion microorganisms and these little guys play a crucial role in digestive function, protection against infections, nutrient absorption and immune function. Wow! Prebiotics are indigestible fibers that these microbes feed on. Try leeks, onion, garlic, apples, almonds, bananas, sweet potatoes and yams.
7. Probiotics
Probiotic foods are fermented foods that contain beneficial bacteria. They tend to have a slightly (or intense) sour taste and are also known for helping to curb cravings! Try sauerkraut, kimchi, natural yogurt and kefir! These foods help populate the gut with more good bacteria, giving our gut a stronger fighting power and ability to function well. It's also a good idea to take a probiotic supplement. Switch up the brand (and strains of bacteria) from time to time to give your body a variety of bacteria.

Cancer is what you eat.

We gonna learn one day that how we eat plays a major role in how we heal!

www.infinityhealthwellness.com

When diagnosed with cancer, every patient should first of all be informed about the importance of alkaline diet by their oncologist.

The patients should therefore know that their diet plays a very important role in the healing process. Accordingly by adopting several changes in the diet, the patient can dramatically increase the chances of healing the cancer.
Nutrition therefore, is the best defense when it comes to the process of healing cancer.
Recently, there is an increasing interest and patients are becoming aware about the importance of alkaline diet, which is composed mainly by vegetables combined with a small amount of fruit, grains and protein.
Except the choice of food, the diet includes specific meal preparation techniques that are adding more to the cancer healing.
Adopting the modern and dynamic way of life, nowadays people don’t always pay attention to the choice of food they make and the way they prepare it.
Their diets usually include convenience food items, microwave fast meals, packaged snacks and fast food. Containing significant amounts of sugar, fat and additives, this kind of food is definitely not a good choice for the ones that are fighting cancer.

In continuation we are sharing a brief introduction to this popular diet and several instructions about the ones that are interested in the same.
There are six main changes that every cancer patient should introduce to their diet. It may seem strict for the beginners, but as a concept it is very acceptable and simple.
Simply put, what you need to do is eat as people used to do years ago, when there was no such development in technology. At that time they were mainly consuming fresh food prepared in simple ways.
The so called modern food which is claimed to be unhealthy is unfortunately still very popular nowadays. It is proven to contribute to inflammation and increases intracellular pH.
This condition is named latent acidosis, which means providing the cancer a perfect environment to grow.
Adopting a properly created alkaline diet will significantly improve your intracellular pH over a period of time. It is the best defense against continuous inflammation.
This diet is mainly composed of organic food items, including green vegetables, many herbs and spices, root vegetables, a lot of onion and garlic, leek and chives, broccoli, cauliflower and cabbage, beans, lentils, peas, nuts and seeds, which are sometimes combined with a small amount of non-gluten grains such as rice.
This diet also includes certain amounts of clean fish, organic poultry or grass-fed meat, which can be consumed several times per week.
During the day, the patients are also allowed to have two to three pieces of whole fresh fruit, which create a balance between the vitamin and mineral consumption. It is highly recommended to consume the fruit and vegetables raw.

 Reduce and then eliminate sugar

It is proven that cancer cells use more glucose per unit of time that any other cell group. Sugar creates an acidic environment which greatly supports the cancer progression.
Therefore, a diet that is high in sugar, including fruits as well triggers the insulin response. If you consume sugar on regular basis you suppress your immune system and at the same time increase the levels of insulin which creates insulin resistance.
This condition has been directly related to cancer proliferation. Processed sugar reduces magnesium in the body, which also contributes to cancer proliferation.
the-importance-of-alkaline-diet
Because of its production process, high fructose corn syrupis high in mercury, which is known as a cancer-promoting toxin in the body. In this diet, it is recommended that you exclude sugar in all its forms, even natural such as honey (See more…) and agave.
However, this doesn’t mean that you should completely exclude sugar from your diet.
You can enjoy unsweetened applesauce, two or three figs or dried apricots, or a piece of fresh pineapple if you need to indulge your sweet tooth.
Moderation with fruit is very important, as fructose has been shown to increase the rate of cancer cell progression.

Eliminate gluten

Grains that contain gluten also cause inflammation. As we already stressed, inflammation promotes cancer growth.
In this case, you need to avoid high-gluten grains such as wheat, pasta, cereals, bread, muffins, cakes, crackers and any kind of baked goods.
Cancer patients are only allowed to consume whole, non-gluten grains such as quinoa, millet, rice and buckwheat.
It is important to note that the items that are marketed as gluten free are not a really good choice, since they usually contain significant amounts of sugar and processed oils.

Eliminate dairy products

According to a study conducted by Prof Colin Campbell, PhD, cow dairy has been identified as one of the most cancer promoting foods.
Yogurts that are rich in protein and made with added powdered milk or whey are promoting cancer cells growth, much more than plain milk, yogurt and cheese.
the-importance-of-alkaline-diet
However, at the process of healing, you should avoid all kinds of dairy products. These products are also claimed to promote inflammation, cause bone deterioration (because of the high acid production during the process of digestion).

Use only olive oil, coconut oil and avocado oil

While eating according to the rules of this diet, you should only use natural, cold-pressed olive oil, coconut oil or avocado. It is recommended to select organic products.
These oils are recommended because they have anti-inflammatory effect. In particular, coconut oil has been proven to have antibacterial and antifungal effect, which is also helpful for the ones that are fighting cancer.
It is important to note that you should entirely eliminate corn, soy, canola or sunflower oils, since all of these products are usually highly processed. In some instances they also contain GMOs which are often related to cancer.

Hangover Cure

If you have purchased a bottle of our Mag07 (if you haven't, come today to get some), then try it to avoid a hangover.  The oxygen it supplies to the blood is instrumental.  Drink a butt load of water before heading to the party, & for goodness sakes "eat something" quick worrying about that little black dress! www.infinityhealthwellness.com

Hangover Helpers That Work!

DrinksWith more than 61 million Google hits for “hangover” and 2.5 million for “hangover cures”, there’s some real interest in what you can do to prevent or ease the unpleasant symptoms associated with having one too many.
While thousands of studies have been published on the topic of hangover pathophysiology, there’s still little consensus of what you can do to avoid symptoms associated with too much alcohol.
Who Gets Hangovers?
If you drink, you can pretty much plan on getting a hangover at some point. While genetics and body size and gender play a role in how much it takes to trigger one, most women who have more than three  to five drinks will get a hangover and for men, it’s 5-8 drinks, but some people–like me–will get a hangover after 1-2 drinks.
There are a zillion nasty symptoms associated with one, including headache, nausea, diarrhea, sweating, vomiting, dry mouth, fatigue and impaired ability to think clearly or see straight.
DrinksResearchers believe the causes of hangovers are due to one or more of the following:
  • Alcohol withdrawal (explains why some find relief with another drink);
  • An altered immune response;
  • Dehydration;
  • Impaired blood sugar levels;
  • Excessive acetaldehyde, a by-product of alcohol metabolism; or
  • Congeners, the byproducts found in dark wines and liquor that individuals are more likely to react to compared to clear drink like vodka.

The reality is that there are probably several factors that play a role—including individual genetics—so there is probably no one fix for hangover and trying several of the purported remedies below may ease your pain.
Prevention:
  • Enjoy mixed drinks with fruit or vegetables juices rather than straight alcohol or diet sodas because carbohydrates and alcohol together may reduce symptoms.
  • Red wine and dark liquors have the most congeners, so stick with white wines, gin and vodka have minimal congeners.
  • Extract of prickly pear cactus taken before drinking has been shown to reduce hangover symptoms.

Hangover Helper:
  • Drink up: Sports drinks like Gatorade or a veggie juice like V8 will help rehydrate, boost blood sugar levels and provide beneficial electrolytes.
  • Take ibuprofen or aspirin (not acetaminophen) to help alleviate symptoms associated with hangover.
  • Try toast with honey…or Marmite (a British staple) toast.  A piece of toast with honey or Marmite may be beneficial as both are B-vitamin rich and the carbohydrates in toast may help raise blood sugar levels.
